Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about JPS bills, power cuts, solar panels and batteries.

Will solar panels keep my lights on when JPS goes off?

Solar panels produce electricity when sunlight is available, but ordinary grid-tied solar without an appropriate backup arrangement usually stops supplying the property during a grid outage. A correctly designed battery and inverter system may supply selected loads during an outage if its switching and electrical protection are suitable.

Why do you need to check my home before giving me a final price?

Electrical loads and property conditions differ. A qualified assessment can check appliance running and starting demands, electrical protection, available installation space and roof suitability where solar panels are proposed. The final design and applicable inspections depend on the site.

Can a battery keep my fridge, lights and Wi-Fi running overnight?

Potentially, yes. Overnight backup depends on the battery’s charge level, usable energy and the appliances running. For longer outages, we also check how the battery could recharge the following day. An extended duration, including overnight coverage, must be evaluated rather than promised.

Will solar lower my JPS bill?

Solar may reduce how much electricity you buy from JPS, depending on your daytime use, roof, system size and approved connection. Your bill may not disappear. A recent JPS bill helps us discuss your options.

How much does solar and battery backup cost?

It depends on what you want to power, how long you need backup, the equipment and the installation. We'll first help you work out what suits your needs and budget. A confirmed price comes after the relevant checks, not from a quick online questionnaire.

What happens if the inverter or battery develops a problem?

Before you buy, we'll explain the equipment warranty, who handles a claim and what support is available. Actual warranty terms and local service arrangements must be confirmed for the products selected.

How is battery backup different from a generator?

Battery systems generally avoid generator exhaust and fuel handling during battery operation. Switching speed, noise, backup capacity and runtime vary with equipment, wiring and actual connected loads.

What type of battery technology is recommended?

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) is a commonly considered battery chemistry. Battery selection still requires checking the specific manufacturer data, inverter compatibility, protections, installation temperature and warranty terms.

How do I request a quotation or site survey?

Contact SunRise by email or WhatsApp from our Contact page and tell us what you want to power or change. We can discuss whether a site visit can be arranged in your area and any survey fees. A definite quotation follows suitable site and electrical checks, not online answers alone. The Solution Finder never sends answers automatically.

Have Additional Questions?

You can send your property and energy priorities for an initial discussion. Further advice or site assessment depends on location and availability.
